You turn age 65 and qualify for Medicare. Does that mean the style of plan (HMO) you have had for 40+ years is now obsolete?

If you live in state that does NOT underwrite or has flexible underwriting does it make sense to try a Advantage Plan?

It comes down to math on one hand and comfort with how the plan works on the other.

Most people have paid co-pays and had network restrictions since they got their first job with Health Insurance (and most likely before that as well!). The fact that there is miraculously an option at age 65 in the US to eliminate networks & co-pays is really a fluke of the system and doesn't in any way make the system you have had for 40 years obsolete!
